At Katie Downs, we believe pizza should be as deep and distinctive as the Puget Sound. That’s why all our pizzas are deep dish, each with their own unique personality. Where the Mariner is salty and adventuresome, the Luau is tangy and laid-back. While the Sicilian plays on traditional Italian recipes, the Great White innovates with delicious white sauce and artichoke. Developed by three generations of Katie Downs chefs, our pizza recipes are ingrained in the Katie Downs experience, and in the landscape of Ruston Way cuisine.
Our tradition of delicious deep dish pizza is 30+ years strong. As a result, we are proud to say that we’ve been recognized as some of the best pizza in the Tacoma area. In 2011, we beat out a pool of 64 other South Sound pizzas to win Weekly Volcano’s Tournament of Pizza. Since then, we’ve been covered by a number of local news sources (including King 5 News, the Tacoma News Tribune, and others) as some of the best pizza on Ruston Way.
